this series, hosted in partnership with the Horn Farm Center of Hallam, PA, was focused on being female in the woods and included four classes that centered on discussions about trail friendliness vs. predators, how to hide and what to look & listen for, first aid, movement across various terrain, and, of course, foraging 101.
farm forage
this was a multi-year collaboration with the flower farm Terra Farms and Field in York, PA to teach folks about safety on and around farmland through several seasons of classes. located next to a stream and sandwiched by commercial farms, every class here allowed us to pick and eat plants and fungi freely (except for the flowers grown for their business!).
momentary art
centered more on observational skills and gaining confidence moving off the trail, these classes combine foraging skills with either independent or group art making. these are especially fun for families, groups that are new to outdoor adventures or couples looking for a new way to be together and are extremely free form.
cooking
from virtual cooking classes, teas, spices, chef collaborations, tasting events, and forage to table classes, cooking is my wheelhouse. there are so many foragers who are better at teaching the botany, herbalism, or ancestral connection, but my expertise is how to bring these ingredients home!
